PPBF: Mom, There’s a Bear at the Door! + my 5th blogiversary!

To celebrate 5 years of blogging I’d like to send one lucky reader a gift: a picture book of their choice! Please leave the title of the book you’d like in the comment section by March 23, 2017/6amMDT, and if I can get a hold of a new copy I’d be honored to send it to you. Please understand that if the winner is from outside the US, the offer applies in softcover/paperback form. Looking forward to reading your wish titles in the comment section below! And happy St. Patrick’s Day to my fellow (lucky) Irish folks!

BearattheDoorcoverAuthor: Sabine Lipan

BearattheDoor1Summary: (from my library catalog) I love the faith tenacity of this main character, and the expression-laden character designs. So much fun!!! Can’t wait to try this out on my storytime kids!

BearattheDoor2Why I like this bookA mother has several questions when her son tells her there’s a bear standing outside the front door of their eleventh-floor apartment.

BearattheDoor4Resources/Activities: this is a great ‘what if?’ prompt for young writers!

  1. Happy Blogiversary! Thank you for bringing attention to books I “missed”. My local librarian always asks how I know about all these great books. You are are of my sources.

  2. Happy Blogiversary! Enjoyed your pick today, especially since it is bilingual. I would love one of the board books you illustrated in the You’re Here series — especially the You’re two. I have many great grandchildren in that age group with another one due in June.

  3. Happy 5th, and I LOVE the spread in their helmets on the bike.

I would love a copy of Big Cat, Little Cat that Susanna introduced us too today. Thank you for the giveaway!

  4. Happy fifth anniversary Julie! I love your choice for today; the idea of a bear on the 11th floor seems hilarious & I’ve read so few German picture books, besides, of course, the Grimm tales, that I can’t wait to read this one. Yes, it’s my choice if I win. And I love the new banner on the top – books & a bear, such a perfect pairing.

  5. Five years! Wow! I will have to go back and check out some of your past posts. Your book choices are always great ones! Happy Blogiversary! (No need to enter me in the contest since I live in Canada).

  6. Happy 5th Julie! A free book? My mind is a blank right now-overworking in the country does that to me. Lol
I teach preschool, so how about a new exciting pb English or Spanish (I can translate). Would you pick one for me Julie , if I win? Tnx. 🙂
