SAD, not really, no. But illustrators need to work on facial expressions and postures that convey feelings, emotions.
And since I already had two words that begin with ‘s’. . . well, why not have a good cry.

AND a book suggestion: My Neighbor Is a Dog, by Isabel Minhós Martins and Madalena Matoso
The parent’s attitude made me sad, quite frankly! But it’s definitely a vibrant, well-designed book with quite the tale to tell!

Great pictures to inspire drawings of sad! And you have piqued my curiosity about that book – I want to find out what the parents did! 🙂

I’ve been having good conversations about picture books with my library’s children’s librarians, and this is one currently in discussion!

Wow, that’s a good but tough prompt for Doodle Day! The “My Neighbor is a Dog” book is interesting-sounding. I just read the Goodreads summary and wondered if the authors are European because the plot has a bit of European sensibility to it (I don’t mean that in a bad way!). The art on the cover is also interesting. I need to see if my library has a copy. 🙂
