Sketch a Day Month 2012, Day Four
Went to a fabulous exhibit (Lincoln Center Art Gallery, Fort Collins) that unfortunately ended yesterday: Jennifer Angus: Memory Game. She works with bugs, real bugs! With a background in textile design, Angus creates patterned installations that feel a lot like wallpaper. I wish they had sold post cards or an accompanying book, but there was none to be had – AND I didn’t take photos, so when I woke up this morning I let the memories inspire today’s sketch
I like this sketch alot! I like real bugs too. I spend a lot of time watching them. They’re quite fascinating. The exhibit that you saw sounds pretty fascinating as well. Thanks for this lovely bug!

Wow! You inspired a thought….
“Oh I love it, fairy godmother!
And I won’t even need a pumpkin…I will fly to the ball.
Yes, I will!
Yes, I will.”

Cool, Julie! Love it. And I’m with Penny – your bug looks dressed for the ball 🙂

Wish you could have seen the ones in the exhibit – she had showcased wax dress-figures with such insect heads, created imaginary insects with an array of parts – all with a Victorian flair!
